TheOIC-AC is pleased to inform you of entering a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Mediation Center (ITOTAM).
Dr. Alper Çağrı Yılmaz, Acting Secretary-General, and Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanıtez, the President of the ITOTAM Arbitration Court participated in the MoU signing.
The primary purpose of the MoU is to develop alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods and to promote a culture of arbitration in Türkiye and elsewhere by bilateral cooperation.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) has played a key role in promoting arbitration since 1979. In order to provide arbitration services parallel to international practice and aligned with modern arbitration rules, the ICOC as of 2014 completed its work on setting up its autonomous arbitration centre and on drafting the new rules.
In 2014, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Mediation Center (ITOTAM) was established. Since then, ITOTAM has been promoting and fostering arbitration and mediation in Türkiye.
