OIC-AC and the SOAS Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre (SADRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 December 2023.
OIC-AC Held Its First Side Event with Broad Participation
The OIC-AC held its first side event at the margins of the 39th COMCEC on 5 December 2023. The panel titled “OIC Arbitration Centre: Global Alternative Dispute Resolution” was moderated by Secretary-General Maged Mamdouh Kamel.

Istanbul Financial Center Authorities Visit the OIC-AC
Mr. Hasan Ali Kulak, Legal Counsel of the Istanbul Financial Center, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the OIC-AC. He met w/ Secretary-General J.D. Kamel, Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Alper Çağrı Yılmaz, and Head of Marketing and PR Nihan Çetin. Deputy Secretay-General Dr. Yılmaz briefed Mr. Kulak on the establishment process, structure, and competencies of the OIC-AC, and elaborated on the 2023 Arbitration Rules, which strictly adhere to party autonomy, efficiency, and neutrality.
Secretary-General Kamel Visits Egyptian Authorities
OIC-AC Secretary-General J.D. Kamel paid courtesy visits to numerous alternative dispute resolution (ADR) stakeholders in the Arab Republic of Egypt in November 2023. During his visits, including, among others, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Investment, J.D. Kamel briefed the High-Level Egyptian authorities on the main objectives of the Centre, its mission, vision, and core values.
Secretary-General Kamel meets w/ BSEC Secretary-General Comanescu
J.D. Maged Mamdouh Kamel Shebaita, Secretary-General of the OIC-AC paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Lazar Comanescu, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) on 9 November 2023. The meeting took place at the BSEC premises in Istanbul. Nihan Çetin, LLM, Head of Marketing and Public Relations and Havva Nur Getiren, Legal Advisor, accompanied J.D.Kamel. Kanan Murtuzov, Executive Manager, accompanied Ambassador Comanescu.
Inaugural Istanbul Arbitration Days
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre (OIC-AC) and Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Law (https://www.aydin.edu.tr/en-us/akademik/fakulteler/hukuk/Pages/default.aspx) will jointly organise a Symposium in Istanbul on 20-24 May 2024. The Symposium will mark the inaugural Istanbul Arbitration Days.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre (OIC-AC) was a Diamond Partner at the 2nd AlBaraka Summit in London, entitled “Islamic Economy in the United Kingdom: Reality and Opportunities.” The Summit took place at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House on 28 and 29 October 2023.
