This pathway is designed for seasoned mediators who are already certified by world-class accredited mediation programs and who are actively involved in mediation proceedings. The process recognizes their existing expertise and focuses on their specific knowledge of the OIC region.
Requirements
- Essential Qualifications and Experience (To be Declared)
The applicant must certify that they meet the following mandatory requirements:

- Mediation Experience: Has conducted a minimum of ten (10) mediations as a sole or co-mediator.
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Has completed at least five (5) hours of mediation-specific CPD training within the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the date of application.
- Language Proficiency: Possesses sufficient command of English, Arabic, and/or French (i.e., at least one of these).
- Legal Knowledge: Possesses sufficient knowledge of both the Common Law system and/or the Civil Law system, as well as the OIC-AC Mediation Rules.
- Required Supporting Documents (To be Submitted)
The following documents must be submitted with the application:

- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resumé.
- Degree or Professional Qualification Certificate.
- Accreditation Confirmation: Proof of the applicant’s current registration with an accredited professional mediation institution within their relevant jurisdiction.
- Mediation Training Certificate: Proof of successful completion of an accredited mediation training course.
- CPD Confirmation: Certificate or proof of completing at least five (5) hours of mediation-specific CPD training in the twelve (12) months preceding the application date.
- Schedule of Mediation Experience: A detailed schedule outlining the applicant’s mediation experience. This schedule must include:
- A list of representative cases.
- The value and a brief outline of the type of claim for each case.
- Details of the applicant’s current practice.
- Passport-Sized Photograph: A recent photo for use on the public OIC-AC Roster of Mediators.
Enlistment Process
- Training and Assessment:
- Attend a full-day workshop on the specifics of cross-border investment and commercial mediation within the OIC region.
- No exam or assessment is required.
- Application and Enlistment:
- Submit a formal application to the Secretariat.
- Submit professional references (at least 2).
- Sign the OIC-AC Code of Ethics.
- The Secretary-General submits the list of applicants and their documents to the Board of Directors (BoD) for review.
- Upon approval by the BoD, applicants are officially enlisted on the Roster of Mediators with their unique accreditation number.
- Publication of the Roster of Mediators with their unique accreditation number on the OIC-AC website.
- Maintenance of Status:
- The names, profiles and accreditation numbers of the mediators are published on a dedicated webpage of the OIC-AC website.
- Mediators are required to meet biennial Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, including participation in a specified number of relevant training sessions organized by the OIC-AC.
