The “Arbitration Days Symposium” co-organized by the OIC-AC and Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Law was held from 23 to 24 May 2024 in Turkish. Academics, lawyers, law students, representatives of public institutions, ADR practitioners as well as others interested in ADR participated in the Symposium.
Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Alper Çağrı Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Vahit Doğan, Dean of the Istanbul Aydın University Law School, and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı Aydın, Acting Rector of the Istanbul Aydın University delivered the opening remarks of the Symposium.
Panellists presented papers on arbitration agreements, investment arbitration, arbitrability, arbitration proceedings, legal remedies against arbitral awards, and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards. The closing session featured introductions from the OIC-AC as well as prominent Turkish ADR centres. Participants were provided with certificates.
We extend our appreciation to each of our panellists for their fruitful presentations which contribute to further increasing the resort to and effectiveness of the ADR practise in Türkiye.
